USCF Neuro-Oncology Gorgon Murray Caregiver Program

After leaving UCSF Medical Center to begin my new adventure with Kelley O’Brien Events, it was bittersweet. I had spent years building events to raise funds for so many worthy programs and had formed life-long friendship with patients and donors.

When Kelley O’Brien Events received a call from a group of the brightest women I have ever had the honor to work with to help with a fundraiser for The Gordon Murray Caregiver Program, we not only felt honored but were thrilled to be reconnecting with UCSF and former donors.

Gordon Murray’s wife, Randi Murray, led a fundraising campaign to build a program that helps families get the resources they need throughout the difficult experience of diagnosis, treatment and bereavement. She was joined by philanthropists Cathy and Mike Podell and Marritje and Jamie Greene to raise funds to establish the Gordon Murray Caregiver Program.

The first event for The UCSF Neuro-Oncology Gordon Murray Caregiver Program was a production of Hamilton. The show had just opened in San Francisco and was certainly the hottest ticket in town. The pre-theatre dinner, which included several cast members, donors, patients and doctors, was beyond inspiring and was followed by the performance of a lifetime!
